Context
I had the opportunity to continue iterating on the existing platform. The platform already has 50k+ users within the Ministry. I was tasked with increasing the usability and find more opportunities for improvement. The platform will also integrate with other apps in the future, for which the design had to be prepared.

Process
The process was a little difficult at the start because of the scale of the project. I came in while other colleagues left so I had little time to completely take ownership of the project. I had to ask as many questions as possible and make sure that I knew who the stakeholders were. As soon as I did that, I started figuring out what the current challenges were and what was already being worked on.
To say that the project required the standard double-diamond, design thinking or lean startup methods would be a lie. I had to figure out what the course of action would be and in what stage of completion the project was supposed to be.
I had to do stakeholder management and make sure that the project could continue without too many hiccups.
As a measure of planning, I made up a few concepts to show the stakeholders what my plan would be in the future, without settling on it already. Giving them a small insight in my plans helped me structure the rest of the project.
